IвЂ™ll review the mod like how it is provided. ItвЂ™s good, to me, but not that great as people made it out to be. In the end, I have a feeling this mod did not impressed me as much as others. I checked this one out after seeing the overwhelming praise it has been given. ItвЂ™s on Cry of FearвЂ™s level of difference from the original source. RAW Paste Data Underhell is probably the most extensive overhaul mod for Half-Life 2 ever. I would really like it more if the survival horror is toned down and it sticks with semi-linear pacing like the Prologue and the early and later parts of Chapter 1. I know that its there to expand on the modвЂ™s вЂњsurvival inventoryвЂќ part but it was too long. It slows story progression down to a crawl and it kind of overstayed its welcome. In my opinion, this is the lowest point of the mod. You also have to go in and out to do your objective, maybe rescuing survivors too if you wish.

You and the prison guards that found you are holed up in a safe house, where you can save your game, restock on ammo, and take sidequests. Midway through the game, the mod suddenly turns into Dead Rising. Chapter 1 expanded the PrologueвЂ™s level design by giving you space to explore for loot. (I know this is done to tie-in the event with Nightmare House 2, but it still feels lazy to have the overused zombies as enemies.) Then from there, you have to escape the prison. Guys, come on, you guys are better than this. The chapter starts with Jake is sent to a prison called Underhell after his action in the Prologue. ItвЂ™s 12-hours long, but without good fillers to keep me going. My greatest complaint of Chapter 1 is its length.
